Cat 8 Ethernet Cable
The Cat 8 Ethernet cable is designed for high-speed data transmission, supporting frequencies up to 2 GHz and data rates of up to 40 Gbps over a maximum channel length of 30 meters. It features a shielded construction, typically S/FTP (Screened Foiled Twisted Pair), with individual pairs shielded by aluminum foil and an overall braided shield made of tinned copper to minimize electromagnetic interference. The cable uses either solid (AWG 22) or stranded (AWG 24 or 26) bare annealed copper conductors, with a nominal outer diameter of approximately 7.8 mm and a weight of 65 kg/km. It is backward compatible with previous categories like Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6A, and meets standards such as ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA/EIA 568B. The cable is suitable for use in data centers, supporting topologies like Top-of-Rack (ToR), End-of-Row (EoR), and Middle-of-Row (MoR), and is ideal for applications requiring 25 Gbps or 40 Gbps speeds, including high-resolution video and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
